What made these projects special to us?

Look at how many of the Christmas files she used in one project!!
We think she made a great collage of photos and images and tied them all together so wonderfully!
We love how she bordered the frame with the lightstrand too!

Hello, my name is Tasha Burkett and I am pleased to have been chosen for the WBW design team. I can't wait to get started. I love the files they create.

I am a mother of two: Zach, 11 and Xena, 9. My husband Bob of 11 years is active duty Army and we are currently stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo but we are from the Hershey, Pa area. I am a family childcare provider on our military installation. This allows me to be home for my children and to be able to create also.

I started scrapbooking in 2003 and have been addicted since. I began scrapbooking when I saw something online and I said I WANT TO DO THAT!! I want my family years down the road to see what we have done. I want my children to know what the people in our family were like even though they are no longer with us. So I have worked long and hard and I am able to do that now. I love being able to create new things and seeing ideas and getting inspiration from them.

I had purchased at one point the Sidekick, I used it 2x and did not touch it after that. It was too much of a pain to put together, hold onto it and I was limited to what size and font I was able to use. Once I was introduced to the Wishblade I wanted one. I was told by someone that the Wishblade was more expensive and to purchase the CraftRobo, which is what I did. I haven't turned back since. I have saved so much money by owning it-it has since paid for itself.

My hobbies besides scrapbooking are spending time outdoors with my family, computer crafts, paper crafts and handmade crafts. Having the cutter has changed how I do paper crafts; it allows me to make things so much quicker because I don't have to cut them by hand anymore. I just have to work on decorating them, which is my favorite part. I enjoy being able to get away from everyday life and just sitting and working on projects, it allows me to have an out when I am having a bad day, or something has happened with my family or I am stressed.

FAQ

Which cutter do you use, how long have you had it, and tell us something that was really helpful to you in learning how to use the machine?

I have the CraftRobo and I have owned it for about 3 years now. What has been most helpful to me was the yahoo groups, they are full of so many helpful people and they are so willing to help too.

Describe your crafting process (for example: are you a planner? do you create layouts or cards "off the cuff"? Do you like to create alone or with friends? With or without music? etc.)

When I create I either just throw things together, or I use a sketch that someone has created. I enjoy to either have my headphones on or the tv going when I am working. I enjoy just creating in general.

What do you typically pack to take to a crop?

I use to try and take as much as I could with me, but then I got smart. Now I try and prepare for when I go. So I usually take my paper, trimmer, adhesive, embellishments and pens. I also use what is in the store if I don't like what I brought with me. I have taken my laptop and CraftRobo so if there was something I wanted to make I could, I keep all of my files on a CD so that I have them on hand, they are also stored on an external hard drive.

Tell us a fun or little known fact about you. (This one doesn't have to relate to scrapbooking or cutting at all.)

I am from Hershey, PA and yes it does smell like chocolate.
